OnePlus has officially confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus 15R will feature a huge 7,400mAh battery, the largest ever in the R-series globally. This also confirms what I predicted earlier in my OnePlus Ace 6T article. I noted that the OnePlus 15R is essentially a rebranded Ace 6T, but it will come with a slightly smaller battery.
This move isn’t surprising, and many could have predicted that. OnePlus 13R also had a slightly smaller battery compared to the OnePlus Ace 5.
The phone also supports 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging and uses Silicon Nanostack technology to improve energy density. OnePlus claims it will retain at least 80 percent capacity even after four years of use.
On the camera front, the OnePlus 15R can record 4K video at 120fps, a feature previously reserved for the OnePlus 15. With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, the phone promises strong performance for gaming and multimedia tasks. The 15R sports a 165Hz 1.5K AMOLED display, which is also TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 5.0 certified.
OnePlus is also introducing its AI feature, Plus Mind, which lets users save content from their screen and organize or analyze it for reminders, calendar events, or quick retrieval later.
The OnePlus 15R and the OnePlus Pad Go 2 will officially launch on December 17 in Bengaluru.
