Fans of the Resident Evil series are getting a new way to experience the franchise. Resident Evil: Survival Unit, a free-to-play mobile strategy game developed by Aniplex and JOYCITY, will launch on November 17 for both iOS and Android. The game will go live at 6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET.
The game will first be available in select countries, with more regions like South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brunei, Myanmar, and Mongolia joining in early 2026.
Resident Evil: Survival Unit offers a fresh take on the classic survival horror universe. Instead of the usual action-packed gameplay, this title focuses on base building, resource management, and tactical strategy. Players are placed in a collapsing city overrun by infection, where they must lead a group of survivors struggling to stay alive.
The game starts with players rebuilding an abandoned mansion that serves as their main base. They can restore their facilities, strengthen defenses, and research new technologies to improve survival chances. Each upgrade and decision plays a key role in building a powerful and self-sustaining stronghold.
Players can also deploy survivors with unique skills in combat, resource gathering, or technology roles. Properly assigning survivors to the right tasks is crucial for defending the base and surviving waves of infected enemies. Every action, from troop placement to building strategy, can shift the tide of battle.
The game’s story brings back familiar faces from the Resident Evil series, including Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, and Jill Valentine. This time, their survival depends not just on skill but also on strategy. The story promises new twists and scenarios that go beyond what fans have seen in the main games.
