vivo has launched the vivo V80 in India as the latest smartphone in its V-Series lineup. The new smartphone focuses on cameras and portrait photography with ZEISS branding, while also bringing a large 7,200mAh battery, a 144Hz AMOLED display, and IP68 and IP69 ratings.
The vivo V80 features a 6.59-inch 1.5K flat AMOLED display with a resolution of 2750 x 1260 pixels. The screen supports up to a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness. It also supports 4320Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The phone has slim bezels measuring 0.125cm.
The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 4nm Mobile Platform with an Adreno 735 GPU. It comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The vivo V80 runs Android 17 with OriginOS 7 and is the first V-Series smartphone to ship with the new software out of the box. vivo has also promised six years of security updates for the phone. Other software features include the Origin Smooth Engine for performance optimization, Snap Note for converting text from photos into editable notes, and vivo Office Kit for multi-device workflows.
The vivo V80 has a 50MP main camera with a Sony LYTIA-700V sensor and OIS. It is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP ZEISS periscope telephoto camera with a Sony IMX882 sensor, OIS, and 3x optical zoom. The telephoto camera supports up to 100x digital zoom.
The phone offers five portrait focal lengths, including 23mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 100mm, along with ZEISS bokeh effects. For selfies and group photos, it has a 50MP ZEISS front camera with autofocus and a 92-degree field of view.
The vivo V80 can record 4K videos at up to 60fps and comes with three cinematic color profiles. The camera software also includes AI Creative Camera with more than 30 visual styles, AI Diwali Portrait 2.0, and AI Retouch features for expanding backgrounds, removing objects, and repositioning subjects.
The phone has a 7,200mAh battery, which vivo says is the largest battery used in its V-Series so far. It supports 90W FlashCharge. The V80 also features stereo speakers, Hi-Res audio, NFC, and an in-display 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
vivo has used a cold-carved glass rear panel and a high-strength aluminum alloy frame. The phone measures 157.52 x 74.33 x 7.69mm and weighs 203 grams. It also has IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
vivo V80 price and availability in India
The vivo V80 comes in Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue, and Stellar Black color options. It is available in three storage configurations.
The 8GB RAM with 128GB storage model costs Rs. 62,999, while the 8GB + 256GB variant costs Rs. 69,999. The top-end 8GB + 512GB model is priced at Rs. 79,999.
Pre-orders for the vivo V80 have started in India. The smartphone will go on sale from October 13 through the vivo online store, Amazon, Flipkart, and authorized retail stores.
vivo is offering several launch benefits with the smartphone. Offline buyers can get up to 10% instant cashback, up to a 10% V-Upgrade exchange bonus, or Easy EMI options. Buyers can also get up to 40% off on V-Shield protection plans and 1,000GB of Google One cloud storage for six months.
Online buyers can get a 10% instant discount on selected bank cards, a 10% exchange bonus, one year of free extended warranty, and 100GB of Google One cloud storage for six months.
vivo will also offer a 50% discount on annual JioHotstar plans. The Mobile Plan will be available for Rs. 249.50 instead of Rs. 499, while the Super Plan will cost Rs. 549.50 instead of Rs. 1,099.
