Xbox Game Pass Adds Call of Duty, But Loses Cyberpunk 2077 and 9 More Games

Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft has announced the first batch of games coming to Xbox Game Pass in September 2026. The first wave is relatively small, but there are still a few notable additions, including Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed, and RuneScape: Dragonwilds.

The biggest addition will be Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The 2020 shooter from Treyarch and Raven Software is coming to Game Pass on September 8 and will be available through Cloud, Console and PC.

SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed arrives earlier on September 3 for Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Dice a Million follows on September 4, while The Royal Writ and Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage are both scheduled for September 10.

The first wave will finish with RuneScape: Dragonwilds on September 15. It will be available on Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Ten games are also leaving Game Pass on September 15, including several well-known titles. The biggest loss is arguably Cyberpunk 2077, which is leaving the service less than a year after being added. Dead Cells, Frostpunk 2, Spiritfarer and Superliminal are also among the games being removed.

This follows the recent removal of The Witcher 3, meaning Game Pass subscribers are losing another major CD Projekt Red RPG in a short period.

Microsoft is expected to announce the second wave of September Game Pass additions later this month. That update should give subscribers a better idea of what the full September lineup will look like.
