Qualcomm has confirmed a long list of smartphone brands that will use its new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series in their upcoming flagship devices. The announcement comes just hours after Qualcomm introduced its new 2nm flagship mobile platform with major performance improvements over the previous generation.
Xiaomi will be the first company to launch a smartphone powered by the new chip. The Xiaomi 18 Pro series is set to be introduced in China later today, with the Xiaomi 18 Pro powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The more powerful Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
HONOR will follow with its own flagship. The company has confirmed that the HONOR Magic9 Pro Max will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. The smartphone is scheduled to launch in China on September 28.
OnePlus is also preparing to use the new flagship chipset in the OnePlus 16. The company says the phone will feature its new-generation Wind Chaser Gaming Kernel, which is integrated into the underlying structure of the chip.
According to OnePlus, the combination is designed to enable native 185FPS full-frame gaming. The company claims that the OnePlus 16 will offer faster, more stable and smoother gaming performance with the new Snapdragon platform. OnePlus plans to share more details about the phone at its Game Conference in China on September 28.
vivo and iQOO are also among the first brands to adopt the new Extreme Gen 6 chip. iQOO has confirmed that the iQOO 16 and iQOO Pad Ultra will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Both devices are scheduled to launch in China on September 29.
vivo has also said that more of its products will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in the future. Recent reports have suggested that the vivo X500 Ultra could be one of these devices, with a possible launch around March or April 2027.
RedMagic is preparing another gaming-focused flagship with the new chipset. The company has confirmed that the RedMagic 12 Pro+ will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and will launch in October.
Motorola is also joining the list. Its upcoming Motorola Signature 27, which is expected to launch later this year, will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
Qualcomm says the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series can deliver up to 13% higher CPU performance, up to 44% better GPU performance and up to 35% faster NPU performance. The platform is built using a 2nm process and is aimed at the next generation of premium smartphones.
Other brands confirmed by Qualcomm include REDMI and OPPO. The company also listed several OEMs, including Xiaomi, vivo, iQOO, RedMagic, OnePlus and Motorola, among its upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 partners.
