Lara Croft is returning to mobile with another full Tomb Raider adventure. Feral Interactive has confirmed that Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris will launch on iOS and Android on September 8.
The game is a twin-stick action-adventure with a top-down view. It combines shooting, platforming, puzzles and tomb exploration. Unlike many mobile games, it will not use a free-to-play model with ads or recurring purchases.
Feral is using a try-before-you-buy model for the mobile release. You can download the game for free and play the entire first level without paying. If you want to continue, a one-time purchase of $9.99 / €8.99 / £7.49 unlocks the complete game and all DLC.
There are no timers or additional microtransactions.
The game also supports customizable touch controls. Players can use touchscreen controls for movement, shooting and platforming, or connect a physical gamepad. iPad users can also play with a mouse and keyboard.
Temple of Osiris can be played solo, but the game is built around co-op. You can team up with up to three other players in online co-op and explore the tombs together. The four playable characters are Lara Croft, rival treasure hunter Carter Bell, and the Egyptian gods Isis and Horus.
The story takes the group into ancient Egyptian tombs as they search for the scattered Fragments of Osiris. They must recover them before Set, the God of Evil, can enslave humanity. Gameplay mixes combat with environmental puzzles and platforming. You will fight undead enemies, avoid traps and solve puzzles while exploring the tombs.
Lara also has access to more than her usual dual pistols. Players can use weapons such as shotguns, machine guns and flamethrowers, while rings and artifacts can be equipped to improve abilities.
The game requires iOS 18 or later on Apple devices and Android 13 or later on Android. Around 3.6GB of free storage is required.
Pre-orders and pre-registration are already available on the App Store and Google Play.
