KRAFTON and 5minlab have announced WPCA: World Phasebound Control Authority, a new third-person action RPG focused on hunting supernatural monsters. The game is set in Seoul, where players take the role of Containment Agents tasked with fighting bizarre creatures known as Phasebound Horrors.

WPCA is built around large boss battles rather than traditional enemy encounters. Players will enter containment zones and fight monsters that can break the rules of normal reality. Combat focuses on fast and stylish action, with players able to target enemy weak points and use abilities to manipulate enemies and the battlefield.

The game also has a deep progression system. Players can collect remains from defeated monsters and use them to craft stronger weapons and gear. Different weapons, skills, passive abilities and random gear stats can be combined to create custom builds.

Players can experience the game alone or team up with two other players for three-player online co-op. There are no fixed character roles, and players can switch between solo and cooperative hunting.

WPCA is coming to PS5 and PC in 2028. A specific release date has not been announced yet, and the Steam page currently lists the release as “To Be Announced.” The PC version requires at least 16GB of RAM and a GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 5500 XT, according to its current Steam listing.

The announcement trailer gives the first look at the game’s combat and its supernatural creatures. With its combination of boss-focused battles, character builds and three-player co-op, WPCA could be an interesting one to watch for fans of action RPGs and hunting games.
