Devialet has launched the Phantom Ultimate 98 dB Pulse Blue in India. The new edition brings a blue finish and matching Tree stand to the company’s high-end Phantom Ultimate speaker. The audio hardware and software remain the same as the existing Phantom Ultimate 98 dB.
The Pulse Blue edition comes with a deep RAL 5011 blue finish, clear varnish and redesigned side panels. The side panels now use a glossy, mirror-polished finish instead of the matte finish used on the standard model. Devialet has also updated the logo to match the new design.
The matching Tree Phantom Ultimate 98 dB Pulse Blue stand is also available separately.
The speaker delivers up to 98 dB SPL and has a frequency response of 18 Hz to 25 kHz. It has a total amplification power of 400W and supports high-resolution audio files up to 24-bit/192 kHz.
The speaker uses one full-range aluminium dome driver and two aluminium dome woofers. Devialet’s Cospherical Architecture is designed to create a wider acoustic field. It can be used as a standalone speaker or paired with another unit for stereo playback. It also supports multi-room configurations.
For stereo playback, the two speakers separate the left and right channels to provide more depth and channel separation.
The Phantom Ultimate 98 dB uses Devialet’s ADH New-Gen amplification, which combines Class A analogue amplification with Class D digital amplification. It also gets SAM, which adjusts the signal sent to the drivers in real time, and HBI technology for low-frequency reproduction down to 18Hz.
Other audio technologies include Adaptive Volume Level, DAC Magic Wire and Devialet’s custom ASIC.
The speaker runs on Devialet’s DOS 3 platform, which brings its streaming and connected audio features under a single system.
It supports AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, UPnP and Roon Ready. Bluetooth 5.2 is also available with support for A2DP and AVRCP, along with SBC and AAC codecs.
The speaker has dual-band Wi-Fi 5 with 2×2 MIMO and also supports Ethernet for network connectivity.
The Devialet app acts as the main control hub. It offers Music, Podcast, Cinema and Neutral sound modes, along with a six-band equalizer. Users can also adjust bass levels through the Bass Reducer option and enable Loudness for volume-dependent acoustic compensation.
