Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 will launch on October 14 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Auroch Digital has also confirmed that the fast-paced shooter is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, although a release date for the new console version has not been announced yet.
The developer shared the release date through a new gameplay trailer that gives players another look at the intense combat. The game brings back Malum Caedo and introduces Nyra Veyrath as they take on a powerful new threat.
The main antagonist is Vashtorr the Arkifane, a Greater Daemon of Chaos. Unlike many other powerful Chaos entities, Vashtorr was born in the Warp without being created by the Chaos Gods. He has his own plans and is using Chaos Space Marines, cultists, and other forces to further his goals.
Players will have to fight their way through these forces as they try to stop Vashtorr. The new trailer shows plenty of the brutal gunplay and fast movement that Boltgun 2 is built around.
Auroch Digital has also confirmed that Mick Gordon will contribute music to the game. Gordon is best known for his work on DOOM and DOOM Eternal, making him a natural fit for a game inspired by classic fast-paced shooters. His track for the final battle is described as being filled with “dread and danger.”
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 14. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also in development.
A free demo is already available, which gives players a chance to try the game and get a look at both playable characters and their abilities. Auroch Digital is expected to share more details about Boltgun 2 ahead of its October launch.
