POCO has launched the new POCO M8 Power 5G in India. The smartphone comes with several notable upgrades, including a large 6.99-inch OLED display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, and a massive 8,000mAh battery. It also promises long software support with Android 16 out of the box.
The POCO M8 Power 5G features a 6.99-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a resolution of 2396 × 1080 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 1,800 nits peak brightness. The display also offers DCI-P3 wide color gamut support, a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor built on a 4nm process. It is paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. Users can further expand the storage using a microSD card. To keep temperatures under control, POCO has added a 10,416 sq mm graphite cooling system.
The phone runs Android 16 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3. POCO has promised four generations of Android OS updates and six years of security updates, which makes it one of the strongest software support commitments in this segment.
The POCO M8 Power 5G features a 50-megapixel rear camera with AI features and an LED flash. It can record videos at up to 1080p resolution. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
The phone packs a large 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. According to POCO, the battery can deliver up to three days of usage on a single charge, depending on usage patterns.
The phone supports 45W wired fast charging, and the charger is included in the box. It also supports 22.5W reverse wired charging, allowing users to charge other compatible devices.
The smartphone includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, an infrared sensor, USB Type-C port, and dual SIM support with a dedicated microSD card slot.
The device measures 8.45mm thick, weighs 225 grams, and features a metallic middle frame with a matte finish back panel. It also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection on the front.
The POCO M8 Power 5G will be available in Black, Blaze Orange, and Green colour options.
The POCO M8 Power 5G is priced at Rs. 24,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant, while the 8GB + 128GB model costs Rs. 27,999.
As part of the launch offers, buyers can get a Rs. 1,000 coupon discount during the first 12 hours of the sale, along with a Rs. 2,000 instant bank discount or exchange bonus. This brings the effective starting price down to Rs. 21,999.
The smartphone will be available via Flipkart starting August 7 during the Flipkart Freedom Sale.
