Publisher Numskull Games and developer Smitner Studio have announced that Hazard Pay will launch on September 10, 2026. The pixel art puzzle game will be available for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Hazard Pay combines block-pushing puzzles, stealth, and survival horror in a Cold War-inspired setting.
In the game, players take on the role of a government cleanup specialist sent to a secret research facility after a containment breach. The mission is to destroy evidence, restore order, and cover up the incident. However, players soon uncover the truth behind the experiments that have turned the facility into a nightmare.
The research facility is now filled with dangerous bio-organisms. Players must solve handcrafted push-and-pull puzzles while avoiding deadly creatures that hunt using sound and blood trails.
The game also features branching story choices. Players will decide the fate of trapped scientists, and their decisions will affect the story, alliances, and multiple endings.
Hazard Pay also includes unique cleanup mechanics, requiring players to erase blood trails and destroy evidence while exploring laboratories, dormitories, and other parts of the facility to uncover its secrets.
Hazard Pay is set to launch on September 10 for PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
