Sony LinkBuds Clip Open-Ear TWS Earbuds Launched in India at Rs 18,990

Sony LinkBuds Clip Open-Ear TWS

Sony has launched the LinkBuds Clip open-ear true wireless earbuds in India. The earbuds were first introduced in North America earlier this year and are now available for Indian buyers. The new LinkBuds Clip features an open-ear design that lets users listen to music while staying aware of their surroundings.

LinkBuds Clip comes with an open-ear clip-style design. Unlike traditional in-ear earbuds, these do not block the ear canal. This allows users to hear traffic, conversations, and other ambient sounds while listening to audio. Sony says the design is suitable for long listening sessions, and the included fitting cushions help provide a secure and comfortable fit for different ear shapes.

The earbuds also come with an IPX4 rating, making them resistant to sweat and water splashes.

The LinkBuds Clip uses 10mm drivers and supports SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs. Sony has included its Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) to improve the quality of compressed audio files. Users can also customize the sound using a 10-band equalizer available in the Sony Sound Connect app.

The earbuds also support 360 Reality Audio and a Background Music effect for a more immersive listening experience.

Sony has included three listening modes with the LinkBuds Clip. The Standard mode is designed for everyday use, while Voice Boost improves speech clarity during calls, podcasts, and videos. The Sound Leakage Reduction mode minimizes the amount of audio escaping from the earbuds, helping improve privacy in public places.

The earbuds also support Scene-based Listening, which automatically adjusts the listening experience based on activities such as walking, running, or working out.

The Sony LinkBuds Clip uses dual microphones, Precise Voice Pickup technology, a bone conduction sensor, and AI-powered noise reduction to improve voice call quality. Sony says the AI system has been trained using different voice samples and environmental sounds to better isolate the user’s voice even in noisy surroundings.

The LinkBuds Clip supports Bluetooth 5.3 and can connect to two devices at the same time with Multipoint support. Android users also get Google Fast Pair, while Windows users can use Swift Pair for quicker setup.

The earbuds can also be used independently, which allows users to wear just one earbud if needed. They also support hands-free access to Google Gemini on compatible Android smartphones.

Sony claims the earbuds can deliver up to 9 hours of playback on a single charge. With the charging case, the total battery life goes up to 37 hours. A quick 3-minute charge provides up to 1 hour of playback. The charging case uses a USB Type-C port. Each earbud weighs 6.4 grams, while the charging case weighs around 42 grams.

The Sony LinkBuds Clip are priced at Rs 18,990 and are available through Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, select Croma stores, Reliance Digital outlets, Sony Centers, and Sony’s online store. Buyers can choose from Black, Greige, Green, and Lavender colour options.
