Samsung has launched the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra in India, expanding its foldable smartphone lineup. The new phones bring updated designs, more powerful hardware, improved cameras, and new Galaxy AI features. Samsung has also introduced the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra for the first time, offering a larger display, better cameras, and a bigger battery for users looking for a premium foldable experience.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8
The Galaxy Z Fold8 comes with a redesigned form factor that focuses on media consumption and everyday use. It weighs just 201 grams, which makes it Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold smartphone so far.
The phone features a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X foldable display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 3,000 nits peak brightness. It also has a 5.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Samsung has used its new Flex Titanium technology, which combines a titanium alloy film and an upgraded titanium plate to improve durability and reduce the visibility of the display crease.
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, paired with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB of storage. It runs Android 17 with One UI 9.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 features a 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. It also has 10MP cameras on both the inner and outer displays. New camera features include Dual Recording, which lets users record videos using the front and rear cameras at the same time, and My FanCam, which automatically keeps the selected subject in the frame.
Other features include IP48 water resistance, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The phone packs a 4,800mAh battery with support for 45W wired and 20W wireless charging.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is Samsung’s most advanced foldable smartphone yet. It features a larger 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display and a 6.5-inch cover display. Despite the larger screen, the phone measures just 4.1mm thick when unfolded and weighs 215 grams.
Like the Fold8, it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor and runs Android 17 with One UI 9. It also includes an expanded graphite cooling system for better thermal performance.
The biggest upgrade comes in the camera department. The Fold8 Ultra features a 200MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and up to 30x Space Zoom. Samsung has also added improved Nightography, 8K video recording using the APV codec, and real-time Cine LUT color grading.
The phone packs a larger 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W wired and 20W wireless charging.
New Galaxy AI Features
Both smartphones run One UI 9 and include several new AI-powered features designed for foldable devices.
The new Now Nudge feature can understand the context of conversations and suggest useful actions, such as opening your calendar or finding a location, without leaving the current screen.
Samsung has also introduced Gemini Notebook, a workspace where users can organize notes, files, images, and voice recordings. It can automatically create meeting summaries, audio overviews, visual summaries, and infographics using AI.
The new foldables also work seamlessly with Samsung’s ecosystem of devices, including the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, Galaxy Watch9, and upcoming smart glasses.

Availability and Launch Offers
The Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra are available for pre-order in India starting today. Open sales will begin on August 8.
Both smartphones are offered in Graphite and Cream color options. The Fold8 Ultra also comes in Violet Shadow, while the Fold8 gets an exclusive Lavender variant. Samsung will also sell Green Shadow (Fold8 Ultra) and Pistachio (Fold8) as online-exclusive colors.
As part of the launch offers, customers can get an Rs. 10,000 upgrade bonus or an Rs. 9,000 bank cashback/UPI offer. Samsung is also offering up to 30 months of no-cost EMI with zero down payment on eligible purchases.
