Nothing has expanded its smartphone lineup with the launch of the Nothing Phone (4b) in India and global markets. The new smartphone focuses on design, performance, and battery life while targeting young users who want a unique-looking device with modern features.
The Nothing Phone (4b) continues the company’s unique design approach with a refined version of its signature Glyph interface. It comes with a smooth polycarbonate unibody design inspired by the Phone (4a) Pro and features a new Glyph Bar on the rear panel.
The new Glyph interface uses a grid of 45 mini LEDs placed across five squares. Nothing claims that it is 40% brighter than previous generations while offering better light control without any leakage. Users can use the Glyph Bar to track deliveries from apps like Zomato and Uber, view camera countdown timers, and check real-time cricket scores.
The phone comes with a fingerprint-resistant finish with a soft texture and has an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. It is also claimed to be 20% more bend-resistant compared to the previous Phone (3a) Lite.
The smartphone features a 6.77-inch FHD+ Samsung Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, up to 2,000 nits peak brightness, and HDR10+ support. It also comes with dual stereo speakers with 160 volume levels.
The Nothing Phone (4b) is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 4nm processor paired with the Adreno 810 GPU. The company claims a 15% improvement in CPU performance and a 25% improvement in GPU performance compared to the previous generation.
For gaming, the phone comes with a large cooling system featuring a 20,829mm² total cooling area and a 4,400mm² vapor chamber. It supports up to 90fps gaming in supported titles such as Battlegrounds Mobile India.
The Nothing Phone (4b) runs on Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16. The software brings features such as a Lock Screen Depth Effect, redesigned Quick Settings, and pixel-level micro-shifting technology to reduce AMOLED burn-in.
The phone also introduces Nothing’s Essential AI features, including Essential Voice, Essential Space, and Essential Search.
Essential Voice can convert voice recordings into refined text, remove filler words, correct grammar, and translate content into more than 100 languages. Essential Space stores photos, screenshots, and voice notes while generating summaries and to-do lists. Essential Search allows users to search information using web results and personal data stored in Essential Space.
Nothing has promised three major Android updates and six years of security updates for the Phone (4b).
The Nothing Phone (4b) features a dual rear camera setup placed inside the transparent rear design.
The camera system includes a 50-megapixel Samsung primary sensor with OIS and EIS support for improved stability during photography and video recording. It is paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera offering a 119.5-degree field of view.
The phone comes with Nothing’s TrueLens Engine 4.0 and Ultra XDR technology developed with Google. The system captures multiple RAW frames at different exposures to improve details in shadows and highlights.
For video recording, the phone supports 4K video recording at 30fps and Dual Video Capture, allowing users to record videos from both the front and rear cameras simultaneously. It also features a 16-megapixel front camera.
The phone has an in-display optical fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options are 5G SA/NSA , Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax (2.4GHz/5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, QZSS, and USB Type-C. It also has stereo speakers.
The India variant of the Nothing Phone (4b) comes with a larger 6000mAh battery, while the global model features a 5200mAh battery. This is the biggest battery ever used in a Nothing smartphone.
The battery uses Safe Cell Technology and is claimed to retain 90% of its capacity after 1,200 charging cycles. The phone supports 33W wired fast charging, which can charge the device up to 50% in around 27 minutes and fully charge it in 80 minutes.
It also supports 7.5W reverse wired charging to charge accessories. Nothing claims that the phone can deliver up to 22 hours of YouTube playback, 27 hours of Instagram usage, or around 9 hours of continuous gaming.
Alongside the standard model, Nothing has also introduced the Nothing Phone (4b) RCB Edition in collaboration with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) cricket franchise.
The special edition smartphone comes in a red colour finish with RCB branding, custom wallpapers, and collector’s edition packaging. It celebrates RCB’s second IPL title and marks the first official smartphone collaboration between Nothing and the cricket franchise.
