Lava has officially announced the launch date of its first Virat series smartphone. The Lava Virat V1 will launch in India on July 21 at 12 PM IST. The smartphone will be sold exclusively through Flipkart, marking the beginning of Lava’s new online-focused Virat lineup.
Ahead of the launch, the company has also shared a teaser revealing the phone’s design, colour options, and a few key features.
The Lava Virat V1 comes with a flat frame and a squircle-shaped camera module on the back. The module houses dual rear cameras along with an LED flash. Lava has confirmed that the primary rear camera uses a 13-megapixel sensor.
The teaser also shows the smartphone in Blue and White colour options. The bottom of the device includes a USB Type-C port, speaker grille, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is becoming less common on smartphones these days.
Lava has also hinted that the Virat V1 will offer an IP-rated design for dust and water resistance. However, the company has not revealed the exact IP certification yet.
The Virat V1 will support 5G connectivity, but the rest of the specifications are still under wraps. Lava is yet to confirm details about the processor, display, battery, charging speed, RAM, storage options, and software.
The Virat series was announced earlier this month as Lava’s new online-first smartphone lineup. The company has partnered with Flipkart to sell the new series and plans to launch devices across different price segments.
