DJI has introduced the DJI Mic Mini 2S, a new ultra-compact wireless microphone system designed for creators who record on multiple devices and in multi-person setups. The new model keeps the small form factor of the Mini series but adds major upgrades in audio recording, processing, and ecosystem support.
The Mic Mini 2S is built around a transmitter that weighs around 12 grams. It now includes 14.5GB of internal storage, allowing up to 28 hours of loop recording even without a receiver connection. This makes it useful as both a backup recorder and a standalone audio device.
One of the biggest upgrades is support for 32-bit floating-point internal recording. This helps capture a wider range of sound levels without clipping, which is useful in situations where volume changes suddenly during recording.
Users can also choose between two recording modes. The Original File mode keeps full audio data for editing in post-production. The Processed File mode gives a ready-to-use audio file that is already optimized.
DJI has also improved file transfer speed. With the updated charging case, data can be copied at up to 34MB/s, which means around 30 minutes of 24-bit audio can transfer in about 8 seconds.
The system supports a quad-channel setup. It allows one receiver to connect with up to four transmitters. This makes it suitable for interviews, panel discussions, or multi-person shoots. It also supports mono, stereo, and quad output, with quad mode giving separate audio tracks for each speaker.
There is also a backup safety track feature inside the DJI Mimo app. It records a second audio track at lower volume to prevent distortion if the main track clips.
In terms of ecosystem support, the Mic Mini 2S works with DJI’s OsmoAudio system. It can connect directly to devices like Osmo Pocket 4, Osmo 360, Osmo Nano, and Osmo Action 6 without needing a receiver. It also supports camera setups using a hot shoe adapter for Sony cameras, allowing four-track recording with direct power from the camera.
DJI has added AI-based noise reduction with two levels. The Weak mode is designed for indoor use to reduce fans, AC noise, and light background sounds. The Strong mode is meant for outdoor environments with heavy traffic or city noise.
The system also includes automatic gain control with features like anti-pop protection and loudness equalization. Users can also switch between three sound profiles for different tones.
The
transmitter includes a rotatable magnetic clip and interchangeable covers. DJI is also offering multiple color options along with special artist-designed covers in collaboration with illustrator Victo Ngai.
The charging case supports two transmitters and two receivers and handles automatic pairing when opened. It also supports fast charging, where a 5-minute charge gives up to 1 hour of use.
Battery life is rated at up to 11 hours for transmitters, 10 hours for receivers, and up to 40 hours total with the charging case.
Wireless range goes up to 400 meters when using the camera receiver setup.
Pricing starts at around 629 yuan for basic bundles, while full kits with charging case go up to 1,199 yuan. Standalone transmitters are also available for users who want to expand their setup.
The DJI Mic Mini 2S is now available in China, with global rollout expected later.
