Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage has officially received Steam Deck Verified status, which makes it easier for Steam Deck owners to enjoy the game on Valve’s handheld gaming device.
The update comes almost two years after the game arrived on Steam. With the new verification, Valve confirms that the game offers a good experience on the Steam Deck without requiring major adjustments.
A Steam Deck Verified badge means the game has passed Valve’s compatibility checks. Players can expect proper controller support, readable interface text, suitable default graphics settings, and smooth gameplay on the handheld.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage takes players back to the roots of the series with a stronger focus on stealth, parkour, and assassination missions. Set in ninth-century Baghdad, the game follows Basim Ibn Ishaq before the events of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
The Steam Deck has become increasingly popular among PC gamers who want to play their Steam library on the go. Because of that, many developers continue to optimize their games and work toward Steam Deck Verified certification.
While Assassin’s Creed Mirage was already playable on the Steam Deck for many users, the official Verified badge gives players more confidence that the game has been tested and optimized for the handheld.
The timing is also interesting as Ubisoft continues expanding the Assassin’s Creed franchise with new titles and updates. Making older games fully compatible with the Steam Deck helps keep them relevant while reaching a growing audience of handheld PC gamers.
