The Planet Crafter Coming to PS5 and Xbox Series on July 21, Launching Day One on Game Pass

The Planet Crafter

Space survival and terraforming game The Planet Crafter is finally making its way to consoles. Developer Miju Games has announced that the game will launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on July 21. The game will also be available through Xbox Game Pass from day one.

Alongside the console release, the game will also become available via the Microsoft Store for PC.

The Planet Crafter first arrived in Early Access on PC through Steam on March 24, 2022. After spending more than two years in development, the game received its full 1.0 release on April 10, 2024.

Unlike traditional survival games that focus heavily on combat, The Planet Crafter offers a more relaxed experience. Players are sent to a hostile planet with a single objective: transform it into a world that humans can live on.

To achieve this, players must gather resources, build shelters, craft equipment, and construct machines that gradually increase the planet’s temperature, atmospheric pressure, and oxygen levels. As terraforming progresses, the barren landscape slowly transforms into a thriving ecosystem filled with plants, insects, forests, and animals.

Since its PC launch, The Planet Crafter has received a largely positive response from both players and reviewers.

Many gamers praised the game’s satisfying progression system, where every action visibly contributes to transforming the planet. Players also appreciated the relaxing gameplay, exploration mechanics, and the rewarding feeling of watching a lifeless world gradually become habitable.

Reviewers highlighted the game’s unique take on the survival genre. Instead of focusing on combat, the game emphasizes resource management, base building, and long-term environmental transformation. This approach helped it stand out from many other survival titles.

However, some players noted that the gameplay can become repetitive during later stages, especially when collecting resources and waiting for terraforming milestones. Despite this, the overall reception has remained strong, with the game’s peaceful atmosphere and sense of progression continuing to attract players.

With its successful PC run and growing community, the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series launch will give console players a chance to experience one of the more unique survival and crafting games.
