Persona 6 Officially Announced for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC

Persona 6

ATLUS has finally announced Persona 6, the next mainline entry in its hugely popular RPG series. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. However, the company has not yet revealed a release date.

The announcement ends years of speculation and anticipation from fans who have been waiting for a new numbered Persona game since the release of Persona 5 nearly a decade ago.

According to ATLUS, Persona 6 will feature a completely new story, a new cast of characters, and a fresh setting. Like previous games in the series, players will balance everyday life with supernatural adventures. School activities, friendships, and relationships will once again play a major role alongside dungeon exploration and turn-based combat.

The game revolves around the power of Personas, manifestations of a person’s inner self. Players will build relationships with other characters, strengthen social bonds, and use those connections to become more powerful as they uncover a new mystery.

ATLUS says the game is designed to be a standalone experience. This makes newcomers can jump in without playing any previous Persona title. At the same time, longtime fans can expect many of the elements that made the series so popular, including character-driven storytelling, social simulation mechanics, and supernatural themes.

The announcement is a major moment for ATLUS and RPG fans. The Persona franchise has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and has grown from a niche spin-off series into one of the biggest names in Japanese role-playing games. Persona 5 in particular helped bring the franchise into the mainstream and introduced millions of players to the series.

While ATLUS is keeping many details under wraps for now, the reveal of Persona 6 is easily one of the biggest RPG announcements of the year. Fans have waited a long time for the next chapter in the series, and the first trailer suggests that a brand-new adventure is finally on the way.

More information, including gameplay details and a release date, is expected to be revealed in the coming months.
