Capcom has officially announced Dragon’s Dogma II: Dark Arisen for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The game will launch on October 9, 2026.
This new version includes the base game along with the Dark Arisen expansion. Capcom also confirmed that the expansion will be available separately as downloadable content for players who already own Dragon’s Dogma II on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The biggest update is the arrival of Dragon’s Dogma II on Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time. The game will be optimized for the new hardware and will bring the full action RPG experience to a portable Nintendo platform.
According to Capcom, Dragon’s Dogma II: Dark Arisen expands the fantasy world with new stories, tougher encounters, and new gameplay content. The expansion takes players to the northern region of Norgan, where the Arisen will team up with a character named Eir to uncover the mystery of the undying Fallen Dragon.
Players will also explore new gameplay systems tied to forgotten relics. These relics can be collected and appraised to unlock new weapons and skills. The expansion will also add 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges. These are new dungeon trials designed to test combat skills and reward rare gear that once belonged to past Arisen.
Character customization is also getting an update. New options such as additional hairstyles and tattoos will be added to the character creator, giving players more ways to personalize their characters.
Ahead of the expansion launch, Capcom will release two major updates for the base game. The first update arrives on June 9 and will improve quality of life features, including more accessible fast travel through the reusable Eternal Ferrystone.
A second update is planned for the end of August. This update will improve frame rates, add extra save slots, and bring further gameplay refinements based on earlier changes.
Dragon’s Dogma II: Dark Arisen is now set to release on October 9, 2026 across all supported platforms.
