Pearl Abyss has shared a new developer update for Crimson Desert, outlining several major content and feature updates planned between June and September. The update includes new combat content, story improvements, cross-save support, quality-of-life enhancements, and confirmation that the game’s first downloadable content (DLC) is already in development.
The roadmap gives players a clearer picture of what to expect in the coming months as Pearl Abyss continues expanding the open-world action RPG.
One of the biggest additions is the new combat-focused activity. While Pearl Abyss has not revealed specific details yet, the studio says the content will allow players to test their strength as Greymane in new challenges across Pywel.
The developer plans to share more information about this mode in a future update.
Pearl Abyss is also revamping the Re-Blockade system. According to the developer, the update will introduce a new phase that makes the progression before and after a blockade feel more natural. Players will also get new ways to defend strongholds against invasions.
Rewards are being improved as well. The goal is to make liberating strongholds feel more meaningful and worthwhile for players who invest time in these large-scale activities.
The studio says it has been listening closely to player feedback regarding the game’s narrative. As a result, several story sequences will be refined to improve the overall flow of Kliff’s journey. The changes are intended to make key story moments more coherent and engaging.
Pearl Abyss is also making gameplay adjustments for Damiane and Oongka. These changes aim to create a better balance between the three playable characters and ensure each one feels equally important throughout the adventure.
For players who enjoy switching characters and experimenting with different playstyles, these improvements could make the overall experience more enjoyable.
Pearl Abyss has now confirmed that it is developing a cross-save feature. Once available, players will be able to link their accounts and continue their progress across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. Save files will be shared between supported systems, making it easier for players to switch devices without losing progress.
The upcoming updates will not focus solely on combat. Pearl Abyss says it is also working on improvements for non-combat activities such as trading and farming. The team plans to address areas that players have found inconvenient and make these systems smoother to use.
These changes could be particularly important for players who spend a significant amount of time exploring Pywel, gathering resources, and participating in the game’s economy.
The company has also confirmed that Crimson Desert’s first DLC is now in development. Pearl Abyss has not revealed any details about the expansion’s story, setting, characters, or release window. However, the studio describes it as a meaningful addition to the player’s journey and says more information will be shared later.
The confirmation suggests that Pearl Abyss is committed to supporting Crimson Desert with long-term post-launch content.
The latest roadmap shows that Pearl Abyss is focusing on both new content and player-requested features. New combat activities and Re-Blockade improvements should provide more endgame challenges, while story refinements and character balancing aim to improve the core experience.
Crimson Desert is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. More details about the upcoming updates and the game’s first DLC are expected in the coming months.
