Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Gets 39-Minute DMZ Gameplay Showcase

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

Activision and Infinity Ward have released a new 39-minute gameplay video showcasing the DMZ mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. The extended footage offers the best look yet at the extraction-based experience ahead of the game’s launch later this year.

DMZ returns with a much bigger focus on progression, missions, and player choice. According to Infinity Ward, the mode combines story-driven objectives, side missions, looting, crafting, and PvPvE gameplay to create a more dynamic experience.

The new gameplay video takes players deep into the Exclusion Zone. It shows how matches unfold from deployment to extraction. Players can take on missions, search for valuable loot, craft equipment, and engage both AI enemies and rival squads.

The new Bounty system makes the game interesting. Players who become too successful or aggressive can become high-value targets, putting a reward on their heads and attracting other players looking for valuable loot and bonuses.

Infinity Ward is also introducing a deeper progression system designed to encourage long-term play. Players will be able to unlock upgrades, improve their loadouts, and build their arsenal over time.

DMZ was one of the most popular additions to recent Call of Duty games, and Infinity Ward appears to be expanding the formula significantly for Modern Warfare 4. The new mode looks closer to a full extraction shooter experience while still keeping the fast-paced gunplay that the franchise is known for.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Microsoft Store, and Battle.net.
