Xiaomi has confirmed the India launch date for the upcoming Xiaomi 17T smartphone. The company will launch the phone in India on June 4, shortly after its global debut scheduled for May 28 at an event in Vienna.
The Xiaomi 17T will be the latest addition to the Xiaomi 17 series lineup. While Xiaomi is currently teasing only the standard Xiaomi 17T for India, the company is also expected to unveil the more premium Xiaomi 17T Pro for global markets during the international launch event.
Xiaomi has not officially revealed the full specifications yet, but recent leaks and press renders have already given a good idea about what to expect from the smartphone.
According to leaked information, the Xiaomi 17T could feature a 6.59-inch flat LTPS display with 1.5K+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The high refresh rate should offer smoother animations, scrolling, and gaming performance.
The phone is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset. The processor is likely to focus on balancing gaming performance, efficiency, and battery life.
Xiaomi is reportedly continuing its partnership with Leica. The phone is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup that may include: 50MP primary camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera, and 50MP Leica-branded 5X periscope telephoto camera. The inclusion of a 5X periscope camera could make the Xiaomi 17T one of the more camera-focused smartphones in its segment, especially for long-range zoom photography.
The device is also expected to come with IP68 dust and water resistance, which means it should survive dust exposure and water splashes or temporary submersion.
Leaks suggest the phone may pack a large 6500mAh battery along with support for 67W HyperCharge fast charging. If accurate, the combination could offer excellent battery backup while still delivering relatively fast charging speeds. Most smartphones in this segment still use batteries between 5000mAh and 5500mAh, so the larger battery capacity may help Xiaomi stand out.
After launch, the Xiaomi 17T will be available through mi.com, Amazon India, and offline retail stores across India.
