realme has launched the new realme 16T 5G in India. The smartphone joins the realme 16 series and succeeds last year’s realme 15T. The company is highlighting the phone’s huge 8000mAh battery, military-grade durability, and AI-powered camera features.
realme 16T 5G features a 6.8-inch HD+ IPS LCD Sunlight Display with 1570 × 720 pixels resolution, up to 144Hz refresh rate, and up to 180Hz touch sampling rate. The display supports up to 975 nits typical brightness and up to 1200 nits High Brightness Mode for better outdoor visibility. It also includes DC Dimming to reduce eye strain during extended usage.
It packs MediaTek Dimensity 6300 6nm octa-core processor with 2x Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2GHz. Graphics are handled by the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The device is available with 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. Storage can be expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card through a hybrid SIM slot.
The company has also added a large 5300mm² AirFlow VC vapor chamber cooling system that is designed to maintain stable gaming performance and reduce overheating during long gaming sessions.
The smartphone runs Android 16 with realme UI 7.0. The software introduces Flux Engine animations, AI Boost 3.0, Extended Use Care 2.0, frosted Misty Glass Control Center, Ice Cube Icons, and Breathing Dock. realme is also promising 6-Year Fluency Protection for smoother long-term performance.
It has 50MP Sony IMX852 primary rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash, paired with a 2MP monochrome sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera supports up to 1080p 60fps video recording.
On the front, the device has a 16MP Sony IMX480 selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture and support for 1080p 30fps video recording. realme has also included a rear-mounted mirror to help users capture selfies using the primary rear camera.
The camera app includes several AI-powered features such as LumaColor IMAGE Engine, AI Portrait Glow, AI Popout Collage, AI StyleMe, and AI Instant Clip. These features are designed to improve portraits, optimize lighting, create stylized avatars, and automatically generate short cinematic videos.
Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C audio, 1115 Ultra-Linear bottom-ported speaker, and 400% Ultra Volume audio mode. Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA bands (n1/n3/n5/n8/n28B/n40/n41/n77/n78), dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and USB Type-C 2.0.
The realme 16T 5G focuses heavily on durability. It comes with IP68 and IP69 Pro dust and water resistance ratings. The phone also features ArmorShell 4-Layer Drop Protection Structure with reinforced corners, metallic mid-frame, internal airbag cushioning, and reinforced metal structure. It has passed MIL-STD-810H military-grade shock resistance certification.
The smartphone comes with the new Gleaming Wings Design featuring shimmering multi-colored particles and sand-gradient effects on the rear panel. It is available in Aurora Green, Starlight Black, and Starlight Red color options. The Starlight Red variant is exclusive to India.
realme 16T 5G Price in India
The 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at Rs. 29,999, while the 8GB + 128GB model costs Rs. 31,999. The top-end 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs. 34,999. With launch offers, the effective prices go down to Rs. 26,999, Rs. 28,999, and Rs. 31,999 respectively. Existing realme users can also get an additional Rs. 1,000 benefit.
The smartphone will be available via Flipkart, realme India, and offline retail stores. Pre-booking starts from May 22, while the first sale begins on May 27, 2026.
