Motorola has officially launched the motorola razr fold in India. While the company already sells Razr flip foldables in the country, the new razr fold is Motorola’s first book-style foldable smartphone in India. The company has also launched a special FIFA World Cup ’26 Collection edition of the device alongside the standard variants.
The razr fold comes with flagship hardware, large dual displays, a slim body, premium materials, and a huge 6000mAh battery. Motorola is also focusing heavily on durability and AI-powered features with this launch.
The motorola razr fold features a premium foldable design with a very slim profile. It measures just 4.6mm when unfolded and 9.9mm when folded.
Motorola says the device uses a precision-engineered stainless steel teardrop hinge along with a titanium inner screen plate. This design is meant to reduce screen creasing and distribute pressure more evenly across the display.
The company also claims this is the world’s first smartphone with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protection. This improves drop protection by up to 75% compared to earlier generations.
The phone comes in Pantone Blackened Blue and Pantone Lily White colors.
Motorola is also using the foldable form factor for different use cases. The hinge supports Laptop mode for multitasking, Tent mode for media viewing, and Hands-free setup for video calls and photography.
The device comes with a 8.1-inch 2K LTPO pOLED internal display and 6.56-inch LTPO pOLED external display. The internal display supports up to 120Hz refresh rate, while the cover display supports up to 165Hz refresh rate.
Both displays support Dolby Vision, and HDR10+. Motorola is also promising extremely high brightness levels with up to 6200 nits peak brightness on the inner display and up to 6000 nits on the outer display.
For audio, the phone packs stereo speakers with Bose tuning and Dolby Atmos support.
Motorola has also launched a FIFA World Cup ’26 Collection edition of the razr fold. This version comes with a unique textured back panel inspired by football materials. The raised-dot pattern not only changes the look of the device but also improves grip.
The back panel also features bold “26” typography along with the official FIFA World Cup 26 logo. Motorola says the logo uses premium materials with 24K gold plating to give the phone a more collectible look.
Qualcomm powers the razr fold with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset built on a 3nm process. The phone comes with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage.
Motorola has also included an advanced liquid cooling system to maintain performance during gaming and heavy multitasking.
The phone runs Android 16 out of the box, and Motorola is promising up to seven Android OS upgrades along with seven years of security updates. That is currently among the best software support policies available on Android smartphones.
Motorola is also integrating several AI-powered features through moto ai. These include notification summaries, real-time conversation transcription, and AI-based assistance tools.
The phone additionally supports third-party AI platforms including Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity AI.
The motorola razr fold features a triple rear camera setup, and all three cameras use 50MP sensors.
The primary camera uses the Sony LYTIA 828 sensor with Optical Image Stabilization support. Motorola says the camera supports 8K video recording along with Dolby Vision video capture. The company is also highlighting Pantone Validated colour accuracy for more natural-looking colours. The second camera is a 50MP periscope telephoto lens using the Sony LYTIA 600 sensor. It supports 3x optical zoom, OIS, and AI-powered 100x Super Zoom Pro. The third camera is a 50MP ultrawide sensor with a 122-degree field of view. It also supports Macro Vision photography for close-up shots from as near as 3.5cm.
For selfies, the phone includes a 32MP internal front camera and a 20MP external selfie camera. The internal camera also supports 4K video recording.
Motorola says the razr fold has received high DXOMARK ratings for foldable smartphones in North America.
Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7 802.11be, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, Galileo, QZSS, BeiDou, NavIC, GLONASS, USB Type-C, and NFC. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The phone packs a 6000mAh silicon-carbon battery and supports 80W TurboPower wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 5W reverse charging. Motorola claims users can get more than 12 hours of battery life with just 12 minutes of charging.
