LG Electronics has officially introduced a new gaming monitor under its LG UltraGear lineup. The new monitor is called the LG UltraGear 25G590B. It is being promoted as the world’s first gaming monitor with a native 1000Hz refresh rate at Full HD resolution.
The monitor is mainly designed for competitive gamers and esports players, especially those who play fast-paced FPS games.
The Monitor has a native 1000Hz refresh rate combined with a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution. Until now, extremely high refresh rates were mostly seen in prototype monitors or required users to lower resolution settings. LG says the new UltraGear monitor can run at 1000Hz in full 1080p resolution without needing any special mode changes.
This means gamers can get extremely smooth gameplay while still maintaining normal Full HD image quality.
LG has also added its Motion Blur Reduction Pro technology. This feature is designed to make moving objects appear sharper during gameplay. In competitive shooter games, this can help players track enemies more clearly during quick movements and fast camera turns.
The monitor uses a 24.5-inch display size, which is considered ideal for esports gaming. Many professional players prefer this screen size because it allows them to view the entire screen comfortably without moving their head too much.
The 25G590B uses an IPS panel with a low-reflection coating. According to LG, this helps reduce glare while maintaining good color consistency during gaming sessions.
LG has also focused on the physical design of the monitor. The stand has a compact footprint to leave more desk space for mouse movement, which is important for competitive gamers who use low mouse sensitivity settings.
The stand also includes calibration indicators that help users recreate the same height, tilt, and swivel positions every time. Other features include a built-in headset hook and customizable UltraGear ambient lighting.
Another major addition is AI-based optimization features. The monitor includes AI Scene Optimization, which automatically adjusts display settings depending on the type of game being played. For example, visual settings may change differently for FPS games compared to racing or RPG titles.
LG has also added AI Sound support. When used with compatible headsets, the feature is designed to improve spatial audio and make in-game voice communication clearer.
The launch of this monitor also shows how competitive gaming hardware is continuing to evolve rapidly. Refresh rates have increased dramatically over the past few years, moving from 144Hz to 240Hz, then 360Hz and 540Hz. Now, LG is pushing things even further with 1000Hz. However, reaching 1000 frames per second in actual games will require extremely powerful gaming PCs. Most modern AAA games still cannot consistently reach such high frame rates even with top-end hardware. Because of this, the monitor will likely target professional esports players who play lighter competitive games like Counter-Strike 2, VALORANT, and Overwatch 2.
