Indie developer Headware Games has announced that its tech-noir survival horror game Hollowbody will launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on June 4. The game will be available digitally for $16.99 / €15.99.
The game originally launched for PC via Steam and GOG on September 12, 2024. The upcoming console release will include all post-launch updates that were added to the PC version.
PlayStation Store pre-orders will begin on May 8, while Xbox pre-orders will open on May 22. Players who subscribe to PlayStation Plus or pre-order through the Microsoft Store will get a 15 percent discount.
According to the developer, the console version includes several improvements and additional content. Players can expect optional new puzzles, expanded lore, extra locations, quality-of-life updates, bug fixes, and a new third-person camera mode. The game also adds support for multiple languages, including Japanese, Russian, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese.
Hollowbody follows Mica, an unlicensed black market shipper searching for her missing partner. After her hover vehicle crashes inside a dangerous exclusion zone, she must survive using limited resources while exploring an abandoned British city filled with mystery and danger.
The game focuses heavily on classic survival horror gameplay. Players will solve environmental puzzles, manage resources carefully, and fight enemies while uncovering the game’s narrative. The developer says the game mixes dynamic and fixed camera angles to create a cinematic horror experience.
Gamers who enjoy atmospheric horror games with strong storytelling and slower-paced exploration may find Hollowbody appealing. The addition of adjustable difficulty settings should also make the game accessible to players who prefer narrative exploration over challenging combat.
