Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Sells 250K Copies in 16 Hours, Strong Player Surge on Steam

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era has made an impressive debut. The game has already sold over 250,000 copies in less than 24 hours of its early access launch. In fact, the milestone was reached in roughly 16 hours. It shows the strong demand for the long-awaited return of the classic strategy series.

Published by Hooded Horse and developed by Unfrozen Studio in collaboration with Ubisoft, the game marks the first new entry in the Heroes of Might and Magic franchise in over a decade. The strong launch suggests that fans have been waiting for a proper revival of the series.

Early player reception has also been very positive. The game currently holds a 91 percent “Very Positive” rating on Steam, based on nearly 3,000 user reviews. This indicates that players are not just buying the game, but also enjoying the experience so far.

Steam Chart numbers further highlight the strong start. At the time of writing, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era has over 51,000 concurrent players, with a 24-hour peak of 51,550 players. Since the game launched only a few hours ago, this also stands as its all-time peak for now. These are solid numbers for a turn-based strategy game, a genre that usually sees more niche engagement compared to mainstream titles.

The game is also gaining traction on Twitch. It currently has over 15,000 active viewers across more than 200 live channels, with its peak viewership matching the current numbers. This shows growing interest from both players and content creators during the launch window.

The game is set in a familiar fantasy world, and it builds on the foundations of one of the most respected strategy franchises. During early access, the developers plan to expand the experience by adding the rest of the single-player campaign, more scenarios and map templates, improvements to the map editor, and features like Spectator Mode.

Currently available via early access on PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store, the game is priced at $39.99, with a 25 percent launch discount running until May 13, 2026. It is also available through PC Game Pass, which may further boost its player base in the coming days.
