Nexon has shared its latest financial results, and ARC Raiders clearly stands out in the report. According to the company, ARC Raiders has sold more than 16 million units worldwide across PC and consoles in just six months. This makes it the most successful new product launch in Nexon’s history.
ARC Raiders received a mostly positive response from gamers because of its atmosphere, gunplay, sound design, and unique world. Many players praised the tension during raids and the way the game mixes PvE and PvP encounters. Several user reviews on Metacritic described the game as one of the most immersive multiplayer experiences in recent years.
Players also praised the game’s smooth movement, strong visuals, satisfying combat, and rewarding extraction gameplay.
However, the game also faced criticism from parts of the community. Some players complained about cheating, balance changes, toxic PvP behavior, and slow content updates. Others felt the extraction mechanics became frustrating over time because of camping, betrayal tactics, and gear loss.
The game has an 86 meta score based on 57 critic reviews. Even 1,600 users rated it 7.5 out of 16. It shows that the game is not just commercially successful, but also critically successful. It is also rated “Very Positive” on Steam. Very few multiplayer shooters maintain “Very Positive” ratings after several months, especially extraction shooters, because these games usually create frustration among casual players.
Still, ARC Raiders continues to maintain a strong and active player base. That itself shows the game has managed to build a loyal community.
The game is also performing well on streaming platforms. Current Twitch data shows over 18,000 active viewers watching ARC Raiders streams across more than 1,000 live channels. The game also reached an all-time Twitch peak of over 400,000 viewers. These are strong numbers for a multiplayer shooter, especially several months after launch.
Steam player data also paints a positive picture. ARC Raiders currently has more than 60,000 active players online. Its 24-hour peak crossed 96,000 players, while the 30-day peak reached over 135,000 players. The game’s all-time Steam peak stands at an impressive 481,870 concurrent players.
These numbers suggest that the game is not just selling well, but also keeping players engaged over time. Many multiplayer games see a huge drop in player activity after launch, but ARC Raiders still appears to have a healthy and active player base.

One possible reason behind the success is that the game feels different from traditional battle royale shooters. The slower pacing, survival tension, and constant risk of losing loot create a more emotional gameplay experience. Players are not just fighting for kills. They are fighting to survive and escape with valuable resources.
Nexon also confirmed that a major update for ARC Raiders is planned for October. While the company has not shared full details yet, the update is expected to introduce fresh content and gameplay improvements.
At the same time, Embark Studios has already started the conceptual phase for two new games that will enter production soon. After the success of ARC Raiders, expectations from the studio are now much higher.
The success of ARC Raiders is also a major moment for Nexon itself. The publisher has long been known for free-to-play online games, but ARC Raiders proves the company can also deliver globally successful premium multiplayer titles.
