Adobe Premiere Is Finally Coming to Android

Adobe Premiere

Adobe has officially confirmed that its Premiere video editing app is coming to Android. The announcement was made during The Android Show as part of the reveal of Android 17 and its new creator-focused features.

Adobe had previously mentioned that the Android version was in development, but the company never shared clear details or a launch timeline. Now, Google has finally confirmed that the app will arrive “soon.” However, there is still no exact release date.

The Android version of Adobe Premiere will reportedly include exclusive templates and effects designed for YouTube Shorts creators. This clearly shows that Adobe and Google are focusing heavily on short-form video content creators in the beginning.

Right now, short video platforms like YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok are driving massive creator growth. Because of this, many creators rely on mobile editing apps for quick edits, captions, transitions, and resizing videos for different platforms. Adobe seems to be targeting this exact audience with its Android release.

The iPhone version of the app launched back in September 2025, and it already offers several useful editing tools. That version includes automatic captions, background removal, video resizing for multiple platforms, and built-in transition effects. These are features most creators use regularly while editing reels and shorts.

The app on iOS is also free to use for most features. Adobe only charges users who want extra Firefly AI credits for advanced generative AI tools. It is possible that Adobe may follow the same pricing model for Android users as well.

At the moment, Adobe has not shared a complete feature list for the Android app. It is also unclear whether the Android version will launch with all iOS features immediately or if feature parity will happen gradually over time.
