POCO has confirmed the launch of its next budget smartphones, POCO C81 and POCO C81X, in India. The new models will be announced on April 23 and will succeed last year’s POCO C71.
The POCO C81 is expected to focus heavily on battery life. It will pack a large 6300mAh battery, which is around 20 percent bigger than the 5200mAh battery seen in the previous model. Despite the bigger battery, the company claims the phone will maintain a slim design. POCO also says the battery will retain up to 80 percent health even after 1000 charging cycles.
The phone will support 15W fast charging and also offer 7.5W reverse wired charging. This means users can use the device to charge other gadgets.
As per teasers, the POCO C81 will come with a 13MP rear camera. It is expected to feature a large 6.9-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device could be powered by the UNISOC T7250 processor and run Android 16 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3.
The POCO C81X will be a slightly toned-down version. It will come with a 5200mAh battery and a similar design. It will also offer 15W fast charging, 7.5W reverse charging, and the same claim of 80 percent battery health after 1000 charging cycles.
Both smartphones will be available via Flipkart after the official launch. Pricing and full specifications are expected to be revealed at the launch event later this week.
