Motorola has launched the new Edge 70 Pro smartphone in India. This is the latest phone in the company’s edge series and comes with a strong mix of performance, display, and battery features.
The Motorola Edge 70 Pro features a large 6.8-inch 1.5K AMOLED display. It supports a 144Hz refresh rate, which should offer smooth scrolling and a better gaming experience. The display also supports 10-bit colors and can go up to 5200 nits peak brightness.
It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection for durability. The phone is quite slim at just 6.99mm in thickness. Despite packing a big battery, it manages to keep a sleek profile. The device comes with a metal frame and offers IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance. It also has MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability.
Motorola is offering the phone in three PANTONE color options. These include Lily White with a marble finish, Tea with a satin finish, and Titan with a fabric-style back.
The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor built on a 4nm process. It comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. To manage heat during heavy usage, the phone includes a large 4600 mm² vapor chamber cooling system.
This setup should handle gaming, multitasking, and daily usage without issues.
The device runs on Android 16 out of the box. Motorola has promised 3 major Android updates and 5 years of security updates. This is good for users looking for long-term software support.
The Motorola Edge 70 Pro comes with a triple camera setup on the back. It includes a 50MP main camera using the LYTIA-710 sensor with OIS support. There is also a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view and autofocus, which can also be used for macro shots. The phone also includes a multispectral sensor.
For selfies, the phone offers a 50MP front camera with autofocus. Both front and rear cameras support video recording up to 4K at 60fps.
The phone supports 5G with multiple bands and also includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. For audio, it comes with stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The Motorola Edge 70 Pro packs a 6500mAh silicon-carbon battery. Despite this large capacity, the phone remains slim. It also supports 90W TurboPower fast charging, which should help charge the device quickly.
