Karma Exorcist Announced for PC and Consoles,

Karma Exorcist

Infini Fun and Cyclos have announced a new action-adventure title, Karma Exorcist. The game is being developed as a side-scrolling Metroidvania experience inspired by Eastern mythology.

Karma Exorcist is planned for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The companies have not announced a release date yet. However, a limited-time playtest is currently available for PC users, giving an early look at the gameplay.

According to the developer, the project is in the later stages of production. The team is currently focusing on polishing key elements such as level design, combat systems, and overall balancing before launch.

The game is set in a reimagined version of the underworld based on Chinese mythology. It explores the idea of karma influencing the balance between different realms. The setting includes locations such as the River of Forgetfulness, Naihe Bridge, and other myth-inspired environments that players can explore during the game.

Karma Exorcist follows a Metroidvania structure, which allows players to explore interconnected areas with multiple paths instead of a single linear progression. The game also includes hidden regions and optional paths that can be discovered during exploration.

In terms of gameplay, the combat system focuses on fast-paced action. Players can use a 360-degree Chain Hook along with movement abilities like dashing, rolling, and double jumping. Enemies and boss encounters are designed with different patterns, requiring players to react and adapt during fights.
The progression system includes collectible artifacts and Soul Gems that can be used to customize combat styles. The game also features consumable items such as talismans and elixirs to assist players in challenging sections.

Karma Exorcist is expected to share more details closer to release. For now, the ongoing PC playtest will likely provide early feedback on gameplay and performance ahead of its full launch.
