vivo has officially launched the Vivo S50 and S50 Pro mini smartphones in China. As promised, the company has focused on compact designs without cutting down on flagship features. Both phones offer high-end displays, powerful processors, strong camera hardware, and large batteries.
vivo S50: Features and highlights
The vivo S50 comes with a 6.59-inch flat 1.5K AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel offers HDR10+ support, very high 4320Hz PWM dimming, and up to 5000 nits of peak brightness, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, which delivers flagship performance while maintaining good power efficiency. The phone is available with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. It runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6 out of the box.
The vivo S50 features a 50MP primary camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera using the Sony IMX882 sensor. For selfies and video calls, there is a 50MP autofocus front camera.
The phone uses an aviation-grade aluminum frame and includes an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It also comes with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Despite its slim design, the vivo S50 packs a large 6500mAh battery with support for 90W fast wired charging.

vivo S50 Pro mini
The vivo S50 Pro mini is designed for users who prefer a smaller phone without sacrificing premium features. It features a 6.31-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a dynamic 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rate. Like the S50, it also supports 4320Hz PWM dimming and can reach up to 5000 nits of peak brightness.
This model is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset built on a 3nm process. It offers higher performance and better efficiency compared to the previous generation. The phone comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. It runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6.
The S50 Pro mini includes a 50MP main camera with a wider f/1.57 aperture and OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera with the Sony IMX882 sensor. The front camera remains a 50MP autofocus unit.
The phone also features an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, and an aviation-grade aluminum frame. It carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
It packs a 6500mAh battery that supports 90W wired fast charging, 40W wireless fast charging, and wireless reverse charging.
