Riot Games has announced that 2XKO, its upcoming free-to-play two-versus-two fighting game. It will be officially launched on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles in January 2025. Players can now wishlist the game on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store. The game is already available in Early Access for PC through Riot’s own client, where it launched on October 7.

2XKO is Riot’s biggest push into the fighting-game genre, and it builds on the studio’s experience with online games like League of Legends and VALORANT. The game is built around fast, tag-team combat where coordination matters as much as individual skill. You can either control both fighters yourself or team up with a friend for duo matches. The Fuse system adds more depth, giving players modifiers that change abilities and strategies from match to match.

The game’s roster features iconic champions from League of Legends, each redesigned with a fresh moveset suited for a fighting game. Riot is also focused on building a strong atmosphere, with detailed stages from Runeterra, hand-drawn 2D visuals, and original music created specifically for the game.

Riot is also trying to make online play as smooth as possible. The game includes rollback netcode, strong anti-cheat tools, and flexible matchmaking options. Whether players want ranked matches, casual fights, tournaments, or just a place to watch others play, the game’s virtual arcade makes it easy to jump in.
