Publisher Gamera Games and developer Taner Games have officially released their roguelike action title, The Awakener: Forgotten Oath, for PlayStation 5. The game is now available worldwide for $16.99 / £13.99 / €16.99 / ¥1,980. The game was originally launched for PC via Steam back in November 2023.
The Awakener: Forgotten Oath offers a flexible roguelike experience set in the mysterious world of Sylvalond. Players take on the role of the Awakener, a warrior summoned by the Twelve Gods of Therad to battle against the spreading forces of chaos. The game blends intense third-person combat with deep lore. Players also have the freedom to choose their combat style.
The game focuses on dungeon exploration and fast-paced combat. Players will repeatedly enter dangerous areas, die, revive, and grow stronger. Each death comes with a cost, but every revival offers a chance to refine your skills and strategy.
Every time you fall in battle, you lose your collected loot, but you also gain experience and story fragments that reveal more about the world and its gods. Over time, your talents, abilities, and resilience grow, preparing you for tougher challenges ahead.
You can also recruit fellow Awakeners, each with different classes and unique powers. These characters play an important role in your journey. Players can also summon ancient weapons and gear once owned by legendary heroes, each carrying special skills or traits.
