Sony surprised gamers during its State of Play Japan event with a new piece of hardware. The company revealed a brand-new gaming monitor designed specifically for PlayStation users. It is called the 27” Gaming Monitor with DualSense Charging Hook and is made for desktop gamers who want top performance with a touch of PlayStation style.
The monitor features a 27-inch display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution. It supports HDR and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) for better color accuracy and reduced screen tearing. The display can reach a 240Hz refresh rate for incredibly fluid motion, especially when connected to a gaming PC.

However, when used with a PlayStation 5, the refresh rate will max out at 120Hz, which is the console’s current limit. Even so, that is still fast enough for competitive gaming and fast-paced action titles.
One of the most interesting features of the monitor is the built-in hook designed to charge DualSense controllers. Players can simply hang their controller on the side of the monitor to charge it while not in use. This clever design keeps the gaming setup clean and convenient, especially for PS5 and DualSense Edge users.
The monitor includes plenty of ports to support a variety of devices. It comes with two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 input, two USB Type-A ports, and one USB Type-C port. It also has built-in stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The monitor also has VESA mount compatibility for flexible desk or wall setups.
While Sony lists PlayStation 5, PC, and Mac as the officially supported devices, the monitor should work fine with any hardware that supports HDMI, including Xbox.
Sony has confirmed that the 27” Gaming Monitor with DualSense Charging Hook will launch in 2026 across the U.S. and Japan. Pricing details have not yet been announced.
