The retro-inspired first-person shooter DUSK has finally arrived on Xbox Series X and Series S. Publisher New Blood Interactive confirmed that the game is now available on the Microsoft Store for $19.99. The PC version has also been released on the Microsoft Store alongside the Xbox launch.
Originally developed by David Szymanski, DUSK first launched for PC on December 10, 2018, following an Early Access period earlier that year. It later made its way to Nintendo Switch in 2021 and to PlayStation 4 in 2023. The Xbox Series release marks another major step for the game, giving console players a chance to experience one of the most popular modern retro shooters.
DUSK combines fast-paced combat, low-poly graphics, and atmospheric horror elements to recreate the golden age of PC shooters. The story takes players into a dark and mysterious rural setting where they must battle cultists, demonic soldiers, and otherworldly horrors. Players take on the role of a lone fighter trying to uncover what evil forces are hidden beneath the Earth.
The game features three full campaign episodes, each designed to feel like the classic shooter levels of the ’90s: fast, maze-like, and packed with secrets. Each episode brings new challenges, environments, and enemies that demand quick reflexes and precise aim. Players can dual-wield weapons, blast enemies apart, and move at lightning speed
While its graphics look like something from the late ’90s, its gameplay feels fresh and fluid. The game has earned strong praise from both players and critics for staying true to the fast, chaotic spirit of classic shooters while avoiding the overly complex mechanics seen in modern games.
