Microsoft has quietly launched Xbox Cloud Gaming in India. It allows Indian gamers to enjoy Xbox titles without owning a console. The service is part of the company’s growing Game Pass ecosystem and allows players to stream and play games directly from the cloud on different devices. In the Xbox-supported Countries page, it has listed India as an Xbox Cloud Gaming-supported country.
Xbox Cloud Gaming lets you play games instantly without downloading or installing them. The games run on Microsoft’s cloud servers, and you simply stream them to your device. This means you can enjoy Xbox-quality gaming on a PC, smartphone, tablet, smart TV, or even through a browser.
The best part is that you do not need an Xbox console. All you need is a fast and stable internet connection along with a compatible controller. The service also supports touch controls and keyboard-and-mouse input for select titles.
The cloud gaming service in India is available through the new Game Pass plans, Essential, Premium, and Ultimate, which Microsoft introduced recently. All three plans include access to cloud streaming, but the number of games and benefits vary.
- Essential Plan: ₹499 per month
- Premium Plan: ₹699 per month
- Ultimate Plan: ₹1,389 per month
PC gamers can also access cloud gaming through the PC Game Pass, priced at ₹939 per month.
Gamers in India can play cloud-enabled titles on a wide range of devices. It supports Windows PCs through the Xbox app, Android and iOS devices, smart TVs from brands such as Samsung and LG, and even Amazon Fire TV.
This flexibility makes Xbox Cloud Gaming ideal for players who want to enjoy console-level graphics without buying expensive hardware. It also works on portable gaming PCs such as the ASUS ROG Ally and other Windows-based handhelds.
The service gives access to hundreds of cloud-ready Xbox titles through Game Pass. Players can stream popular games directly from their library or explore new titles added regularly. Many of these games support cross-save, so you can start on one device and continue playing on another.
For Indian gamers, this is a big moment. Xbox Cloud Gaming removes one of the biggest barriers to gaming: hardware cost. You do not need to spend tens of thousands of rupees on a console or a high-end gaming PC to experience modern games.
The arrival of the service also shows Microsoft’s growing focus on the Indian market. India now joins other countries where Xbox Cloud Gaming is available, showing the company’s effort to expand its gaming ecosystem globally.
