Lava has officially teased its upcoming smartphone, the Lava Agni 4, to give us a first look at the design. The teaser photos posted on the company’s social media channels confirm that the next Agni series phone will feature a dual rear camera setup along with a more refined and modern look.

The teaser shows the phone in a glossy finish with slightly curved edges, which gives it a premium appearance compared to the previous generation. The camera module now includes two large sensors and an LED flash, arranged neatly in a rectangular housing. While Lava has not revealed any specific details about the sensors, the teaser suggests that the company is aiming for a cleaner and more minimalist aesthetic this time.

Lava’s Agni series is known for offering 5G performance at competitive prices, and we expect the same from Lava Agni 4.

A few weeks ago, the BIS listing also confirmed the specs and possible launch timeline. The phone is expected to launch in November 2025. It should come with a 6.78-inch Full HD+ display, Dimensity 8350 chipset, Dual rear camera (likely two 50 MP lenses), and around a 7,000 mAh battery.

Lava, the home-grown smartphone brand, still has a limited user base in India. In the sub-₹30,000 segment, its market share stands at around 2%, but the company has an ambitious goal. It wants to push that figure to 10% within the next 3 to 5 years. Interestingly, Lava has been showing strong signs of revival. It recently reported an impressive 156% year-on-year growth in Q2 2025. This growth was driven by demand in the budget smartphone category under ₹10,000.

The company’s strategy focuses on offering a clean Android experience, minimal bloatware, and a reliable after-sales network with home pick-up service. It also does local manufacturing and assembly to appeal to the “Make in India” sentiment. However, these efforts have not yet translated into large-scale consumer trust or brand loyalty.

When you look at its competitors, realme, iQOO, Infinix, and Redmi are doing much better. These brands dominate online sales, have strong ecosystems, aggressive marketing, and consistent product cycles. Lava, on the other hand, often struggles with slower launches, limited availability, and less aggressive marketing.

The biggest factor holding Lava back is perception. Many consumers still don’t see Lava as a reliable brand. Until Lava can change this mindset through consistent, premium-quality products and better marketing, it will continue to play catch-up.

Now, Lava is trying to remain consistent with product launches; however, it still needs to up its marketing game. Lava Agni 3 stood out on paper for several strong features. Reviewers also praised its display, performance, and clean software experience. So, we also have high hopes with Laval Agni 4. If Lava plays this right, the Agni 4 could be a real step up from the Agni 3 and stand out among mid-range offerings.

I really appreciate how Lava is putting in efforts to prove that a Made-in-India brand can genuinely compete with global names.
