Gran Turismo 7 is getting its biggest update so far with Spec 3, arriving on December 4, and it will be joined by a brand-new addition called the Power Pack. Both were announced during the recent State of Play Japan event, where series producer Kazunori Yamauchi revealed what’s next for the long-running racing franchise.

The Power Pack introduces 24-hour endurance races. It lets players feel the thrill of legendary events like Le Mans from the comfort of their homes. That alone makes it one of the most ambitious expansions the series has ever seen.

According to the official PlayStation Blog, the Power Pack includes 50 new races spread across 20 themed categories inspired by motorsport traditions from around the world. Players can now take part in full race weekends with practice sessions and qualifying rounds, adding a deeper layer of realism to the game’s already impressive simulation.

Another major highlight is the introduction of Gran Turismo Sophy 3.0, the next generation of Polyphony Digital’s racing AI. While the earlier 2.0 version was free for base game owners, this new version will be part of the paid Power Pack. Sophy 3.0 promises smarter opponents, more realistic driving behavior, and even closer races.

Those who buy the Power Pack will also receive 5,000,000 in-game Credits, which are worth over $40. This gives players a head start in collecting new cars or tuning their favorites. While Sony has not revealed the official price yet, early reports suggest it could cost between $40 and $50.

Gran Turismo 7 continues to be one of PlayStation’s most successful titles. The series has now sold over 100 million units worldwide as of June 2025.
