Battlefield 6 Servers Hit Full Capacity at Launch as Player Count Surges Past 747,000 on Steam

Battlefield 6

The wait for Battlefield 6 is finally over, and it looks like fans could not wait to jump in. Just hours after launch, servers hit full capacity worldwide, and it forced players into queue systems as the game’s popularity skyrocketed.

According to SteamDB, Battlefield 6 reached a peak of 747,440 concurrent players shortly after release. Even hours later, the player count remained steady at over 700,000 players on Steam alone, and that does not even include console numbers.

Despite servers reaching capacity, the overall launch has gone relatively smoothly. While some players were placed in queues, waiting times have been short. It suggests that EA and Battlefield Studios were well-prepared for the surge in players.

Earlier today, the developers confirmed that a queue system would be in place to handle heavy traffic and prevent server crashes. So far, the plan appears to be working — with most players able to join matches without major delays.

The excitement around Battlefield 6 was already clear during its beta phase, which saw hundreds of thousands of players on Steam and likely millions across all platforms. Now, with its official release, the full launch numbers show that the series still holds a massive fan base.
