Samsung Galaxy S24 Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 variant teased in India

Samsung has officially confirmed the launch of the Galaxy S24 powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in India. This comes almost a year after the company introduced the Exynos 2400-powered Galaxy S24 in the country. Except for the chipset, most of the specifications remain the same as the earlier model.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a flagship chipset that promises better performance, efficiency, and gaming experience compared to the Exynos 2400. Last year, Samsung faced criticism for using its in-house Exynos chip in India while many global markets received the Snapdragon variant. The Exynos 2400 is powerful, but it still lags behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in benchmarks, sustained performance, and GPU power.

Galaxy S24 was launched in India back in January 2024. Now it feels unfair to those customers who paid nearly Rs. 80,000 for the Exynos model. Now the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 version is expected to launch at a much lower price. Samsung should learn from this and prefer launching the Snapdragon version in India from the beginning.

The new Galaxy S24 Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 variant will be available in Onyx Black, Marble Grey, Amber Yellow, and Cobalt Violet colour options. Samsung has confirmed it will go on sale in India ahead of the festive season.

Flipkart has already teased the smartphone with a price of less than Rs. 40,000, which is a huge drop from the original Rs. 79,999 price tag of the Exynos-powered Galaxy S24. The exact price is expected to be revealed next week, before the Big Billion Days Sale 2025, starting on September 23rd.
