Arc System Works Drops Magical Beat on Steam

Magical Beat

Arc System Works, in collaboration with APLUS Games, has just released the PC version of their rhythm-based puzzle game, Magical Beat, on Steam. The game costs $9.99.

Magical Beat was originally launched in Japanese arcades on May 31, 2012, and quickly found its way to PlayStation platforms. It was released for PS Vita on June 17, 2014. Now players can experience this unique twist on the puzzle genre on their PC.

Magical Beat is no ordinary puzzle game. It is a rhythm-powered puzzle experience where players drop colored blocks, known as beatons, to the beat of the soundtrack. Just like in a classic match-3 puzzle game, players must connect three or more beatons of the same color to clear them from the board. However, the challenge intensifies when you factor in the rhythm. Dropping beatons out of sync with the music results in the block disintegrating and falling randomly, causing chaos on your board and ruining your rhythm.

As you match and eliminate beatons, you send greyed-out beatons to your opponent’s side, piling up the pressure. The faster you clear your beatons, the more you can disrupt your opponent. The goal is simple: clear your screen before your opponent does.

One of the highlights of Magical Beat is its stellar soundtrack. Over 100 tracks are included, featuring original music by Kikuo.

Whether you’re a fan of rhythm games, puzzle challenges, or both, Magical Beat offers a fresh and exciting experience that will keep you tapping your toes as you clear blocks to the beat.
