Rockstar Games has just announced a major upgrade for Grand Theft Auto V on PC, bringing long-awaited features previously exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Starting March 4, PC players will get access to improved graphics, faster loading times, new vehicles, and the ability to purchase a GTA+ membership. Best of all, this upgrade is free for all existing GTAV PC players.
What’s New in GTA V on PC?
This upgraded version brings a host of new features, including:
- Hao’s Special Works (HSW): Get your hands on high-performance vehicles with best-in-class upgrades, participate in HSW Races and time Trials, and test new Premium rides.
- Wildlife Encounters: Ambient animals are now a part of Southern San Andreas, and you can take part in the Wildlife Photography Challenge for exclusive rewards.
- GTA+ Membership: PC players can finally subscribe to GTA+ for in-game benefits like GTA$500,000 monthly and access to The Vinewood Club.
- Career Progress Feature: Keep track of your criminal empire as you rise through GTA Online’s updates.
- Refreshed UI & Career Builder: New players get a GTA$4,000,000 boost to kickstart their journey as an Executive, Gunrunner, Nightclub Owner, or Biker.
- Improved Player Experience: Expect kernel-based anti-cheat protection and better voice chat moderation to enhance online gameplay.

New Vehicles in GTA Online
This update brings a lineup of powerful new cars and motorcycles, including:
- Coil Cyclone II (Super)
- Imponte Arbiter GT (Muscle)
- Karin S95 (Sports)
- Pegassi Weaponized Ignus (Super)
- Pfister Astron Custom (SUV)
Select vehicles will also receive HSW upgrades, improving their speed and handling dramatically. Some of these include:

What Happens to the Older Version of GTA V?
Rockstar has confirmed that support for the older version of GTAV will continue for those with incompatible hardware. However, this means that players using the older version won’t be able to play with those on the upgraded version. Both versions will remain accessible for those who upgrade.
