Instagram has announced an update to DMs, so you don’t miss any important message requests. The company has made filtering message requests from creators and influencers easier. Just to clarify, ‘message requests’ are those messages that aren’t delivered to your main inbox. The app also allows message sorting by followers and more.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri posted on Instagram about the new features added to your Inbox.
“Introducing improvements to DMs for creators, including new ways to filter message requests so you can easily find the messages you don’t want to miss. There’s a lot more work to do to make DMs easier for creators to navigate, so keep the feedback coming,” Adam Mosseri said.
Now users can sort and filter these message requests by follower count, verified accounts, brands, creators, and other factors. So you can easily identify messages from important people who deserve your reply.
The company has also added a separate folder, ‘Story Replies, ‘ to collect all story replies in one place.
These changes will help creators a lot. Creators receive so many messages from their followers. So, they may miss brand collaboration messages or messages from other creators in the crowded inbox. Now they can quickly filter and sort message requests to identify important messages they need to reply to.
