Medium has expanded its Partner Program to 77 new countries including India. So, writers from these new countries can now earn on Medium from their stories based on engagement. If you actively share your views and opinions on Medium via articles, you can now also earn a passive income.
With the addition of 77 new countries, the Partner Program is now available in over 115 countries supported by Stripe. However, it is important to note that you also need to join Medium’s membership to join Partner Program. To qualify for the Partner Program, you also need to have a story published in the last six months.
“At Medium, we believe there are great stories everywhere,” said CEO Tony Stubblebine. “We are trying to build a better internet because we want to be a home for perspectives from as diverse a set of countries, demographics, cultures, and lived experiences as we can. In expanding our Partner Program, we hope these new voices will help deepen our collective understanding of the world through their writing.”
Medium doesn’t serve ads and is supported by over one million members. These members fund the platform and writers in the form of subscription money they pay. Earning is based on several factors including the time members spend on your stories, engagement, positive interactions, new followers, and more. Writers can also opt to show their stories only to Medium members if they want.
The company has also updated the Partner Program dashboard to show earning history, tax withholding, and Stripe account fees. Writers can use it to monitor payout history and update payout settings. Medium is also expanding the Boost Nominator Pilot Program to include more editors from all Partner Program countries.
