Airtel Payments Bank has introduced a smartwatch in partnership with Noise and NPCI. The smartwatch supports National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) technology and has an integrated RuPay chip for transactions. The watch supports the Mastercard network for seamless contactless payments at retail outlets and POS terminals.
The smartwatch packs usual fitness tracking features, but the most notable feature is the on-the-go payments. It supports tap-and-pay transactions at merchant locations. The watch has an embedded RuPay chip, so users can pay on transit systems across the metro, buses, parking facilities, and more. There is also an option to toggle on/off the payment option from the watch itself.
Users need to link the smartwatch to their Airtel Payments Bank savings account to use the payments feature and can use it to make payments between Rs. 1 to Rs. 25,000 per day. Payment of up to Rs. 5,000 doesn’t require a PIN, but payment beyond the limit will require the entering of the PIN.
It features a 1.85-inch square TFT LCD screen with 550nits brightness. The display is clear and bright to make it easy to see even in bright sunlight. The watch also supports over 150 cloud-based watch faces. You get notifications, call reminders, and messages on the watch.
The Airtel Payments Bank Smartwatch features blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), body temperature, heart rate, and blood pressure measurement. It also has 130 sports modes and also counts your steps and distance traveled.
The watch also supports Bluetooth calling to make and receive calls directly from the smartwatch. The company also promises a battery life of up to 10 days on a single charge.
Airtel Payments Bank Smartwatch comes in Black, Blue, and Grey colors. It is also IP68 water resistant.
Airtel Payments Bank Smartwatch is priced at Rs. 2,999. It is available through the Airtel Thanks App for existing Airtel Payments Bank customers. New customers need to open a digital account to order the watch.
Airtel Payments Bank smartwatch is an affordable smartwatch offering a sleek design, health monitoring features, Bluetooth calling, and decent battery life. However, the lack of NFC and GPS could be a disadvantage. It also has limited app support. If you are an existing Airtel Payments Bank user, Airtel Payments Bank smartwatch can be a good option to focus on health and fitness tracking.
