Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 with 7.6-inch foldable and 6.3-inch outer displays, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy announced

Samsung has finally introduced its latest foldable phone Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 at its Galaxy Unpacked event. The company has made a few changes in design, and improved performance, but kept the same camera setup.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 features a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display with 1~120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 2600 nits peak brightness. It also supports HDR10+ content. It also has a 6.3-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Cover Display with 1~120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 2600 nits peak brightness. The display has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

The company uses enhanced layers on the main screen to improve the crease while maintaining strength. The dual rail hinge structure makes it more reliable. The phone is thinner at 12.1mm when folded and 5.6mm when unfolded.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 also has IP48 ratings for dust and water resistance as compared to IPX8 ratings in its predecessor.

It packs Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy and Adreno 750 GPU. The company has used a 1.6x larger vapor chamber for improved cooling and better thermal management. The phone has 12GB LPDDR5X RAM. It also comes in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 runs Android 14 with One UI 6.1.1 out of the box. The company promises seven years of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates. The company has several notable features including Note Assist, PDF overlay translation feature in Notes, Interpreter, Live Translate, Circle to Search, AI-powered ProVisual Engine, Photo Assist, Portrait Studio, and more.

Note Assist5 offers translation, summaries, and auto-formatting of notes. It also includes transcript feature that prides transcription, translation, and summaries of voice recordings directly in Notes.

It also supports S Pen and offers a new Sketch to Image feature that generates images from sketches or drawing on Photos. The phone also integrated the Gemini app for proving AI in the phone. Users can access Gemini by swiping the screen corner or using voice commands.

There seems no update in the camera. The rear camera has 50 megapixels primary camera with OIS, 12 megapixels 123˚ Ultra-wide camera, and 10 megapixels telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom. For selfies, the phone has 10 megapixels front camera on the cover display and 4 megapixels under-display camera on the internal display.

It has stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support for a good audio experience.

The fingerprint sensor is on the side button. The phone also has 5G, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS with GLONASS, USB Type-C, and NFC. Galaxy Z Fold 6 packs a 4400mAh battery with 25W wired, 15W wireless, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 comes in Silver Shadow, Pink, and Navy colors. The phone also offers Crafted Black, and White colors which will be sold only online.
