X Rolls Out Audio and Video Calls: Here’s How to Enable Them

X

X, previously known as Twitter, has added a new feature. You can now make audio and video calls on this platform. Although there hasn’t been an official announcement, users are receiving a notification that says, “Audio and video calls are now available,” when they log into the platform.

In August this year, the CEO of the company, Linda Yaccarino, said that soon, users on this social media platform will be able to make calls without sharing phone numbers. This feature will be in the “Direct Message” menu, and the platform will have some rules to prevent spam calls.

To enable audio and video calls on X, go to the app settings, tap “Privacy and Safety,” and select “Direct Messages.” If the feature is available to you, you’ll see a switch called “Enable audio and video calling.” You can turn it on and choose who you want to call.

Go to Settings > Privacy & Safety > Direct Messages > Enable Audio & Video Calling

You can pick people from your address book, people you follow, verified users, or all of them. To make a call, open a direct message with someone, tap the phone icon in the top right corner, and choose audio or video call, just like in WhatsApp and Instagram. X also lets you choose who can call you.
